[헤이스트링 Hey string]
“Hey string”은 전통음악을 공부한 가야금 연주자 오지현, 김지효, 박지현으로 구성된 음악집단이다. 다양한 음악을 묶어 도전적이며 개성 넘치는 헤이스트링만의 색깔로 표현해 낸다. 가야금으로만 구성된 음악적 한계를 뛰어넘을 다양한 가능성과 음악적 어법을 모색한다. 연주자들이 작곡에 공동으로 참여해 파격적인 선율과 높은 기량으로 몰입도 높은 강렬한 음악을 만든다.

Hey string is a music group consisting of Oh Jihyeon, Kim Jihyo and Park Jihyun, Gayageum instrument players with academic backgrounds in traditional music.
The band blends various styles of music to create adventurous works full of unique colors. It also seeks diverse musical possibilities to overcome the limits of a band consisting only of Gayageum instruments. The three artists work together in writing their pieces, presenting powerful music that features surprising melodies and high-end performance.

켜켜이 쌓인 발자국 The Piled Up Footprints _ 작곡 헤이스트링(composed by Hey string)
“기차는 명암의 경계가 불분명한 새벽녘에, 근처에 불빛 하나 없는 정류장에서 멈춘다. 그 곳에서 내린 나에게 가장 먼저 와락 안기는 건, 솜털이 깜짝 일게 하는 공기의 냉랭함으로 무장한, 드넓게 깔린 설원의 풍경이다. 모두가 가만한 시간에 해가 떠오를 동쪽으로 향하기로 한 나를 좇는 건, 두텁게 쌓인 눈의 대지 위에 소복이 쌓이는 나의 발자국, 오직 그것 하나처럼 느낀다.”
“내가 걷고 있는 설원은 일출과 함께 구름 뒤로 부서지는 햇살을 빠르게 머금더니 눈이 시리도록 빛이 난다. 그 광원으로 인해 고개를 가로 돌리니, 드넓은 흰 천 위 조용히 자리하고 있던 나의 발자국 위와 옆으로 조그만 발자국들이 놓인다. 크기도, 넓이도, 깊이도 다르고, 보폭도, 발끝이 향하는 방향도 제멋대로인 그 흔적들을 어지럽다고 느끼지 않는다. 나 홀로 우뚝 서있던 이 드넓은 설원 위, 무명의 자국들과 나의 자국이 켜켜이 쌓여있는 풍경은 낯설지 않다.”

〈켜켜이 쌓인 발자국〉은 드넓게 펼쳐진 설원 위에 조화롭게 같이 걸어가는 발자국들로부터 영감을 받아 탄생한곡이다. 낯설게 아름다운 설원의 풍경 속에서 순수하고 편안한 찰나를 마주하는 순간을 포착한 이곡은, 도시의 경계 밖을 상상하지 않는 현대인들이 잊고 살아가는 아름다운 드넓은 설경의 공간과, 그 위에서 새벽녘 쌓이는 눈처럼 고요히 서로 조율하는 다성적인 존재들이 어우러지는 경관이 자아내는 순수하고 신비로운 느낌을 정제된 얼음과 같이 투명한 곡조를 통해 담아낸다.

“The train stops at an unilluminated station at dawn when light and darkness are indistinguishable. The first thing that welcomes me out of the train is a vast snow-covered fields filled with surprisingly cold air. It feels as if my own footprints on the thick snow are the only thing that follows me when I head to the east, where the sun rise, at a time when everything in the world stands still.”
“The field that I walk on shines dazzlingly as they absorb the sunlight that goes behind the clouds after the sunrise. Turning my head to where the light comes from, I see small footprints on and beside my own on the wide expanse of white. The tracks, with sizes, widths, depths, strides, and directions being different from each other, doesn’t strike me as confusing. On the grand snow fields that I stand alone, it doesn’t feel unfamiliar to see unknown tracks and my own footprints piled up in layers.”

〈The Piled Up Footprints〉 is a work inspired by footprints left harmoniously on a vast expanse of snow fields. Capturing a moment of serenity amid unfamiliar and beautiful scenery, the work describes in a crystal-clear tone the pure and mysterious feeling comfing from a harmony of polyphonic existences, for example, a beautiful vast natural scene which defies the imagination of today’s people and the snow piling upon the scene.
