“Near You” was recorded by Francis Craig & his Orchestra for Bullet records in 1947. The success of this disc led to the establishment of the first record pressing plant in Nashville. Craig was born Sept. 10th 100 in Dickson, Tennessee. He passed away Nov. 19th 1966 in Sewanee, Tn. The disc sold around 2.5 million copies over time.
