To this day, it's still one of the most breathtaking and resonant works I've ever encountered.

Hope and I originally entered this in the cover/remix contest Patterns hosted for this song when it was first released, way back in December 2022. At the time, I had just gone through a quiet breakup at the end of an almost 7-year long relationship. This song held so much poignance for me as I recorded it, and I'd like to think that the emotions I was feeling back then still shine through in my performance. Now, having finally finished this project a solid 2.5 years after we first kicked it off, I find that its release is coinciding with the closing of yet another such cycle in my life.

Everyone involved with this project has gone through multiple metamorphoses from the time since we started this through now. At first I felt guilty for letting it drag on for so long—now I realize that it was perhaps just part of the natural process of this project's completion. I'm grateful that the timing worked out so perfectly for a much-needed breather to pause, recollect, and reflect. I’m happy that it’s this current version of me who finally took it across the finish line.

The time feels right, right now.
