Our friend Jim Childress wrote The Road to Malvern years ago, and it has permeated the old-time repertoire. It's a true modern standard. What better compliment could there be to a tunesmith than the fact that most people think this is a traditional tune. This tune is just one of MANY that Jim has written. I (Chris) have recorded two of them (The Old Hotel, and Turkey Sag) on my early albums with Arnie Naiman.
