Description
Tommy James and the Shondells had a string of Top 40 hits during the latter part of the 1960s, and this is my personal favorite song from them, a truly lovely track that features some awesome acoustic guitars. This single version has been slightly remixed from the original album version with additional percussion and brass arrangements, most notably the extended bongos at 2:25 and those wonderful horn overdubs that start at around 2:31. Crystal Blue Persuasion went to #2 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart in 1969, and the single also became an Adult Contemporary chart hit, peaking at #27.
